The difficulties foreign students experience upon entering educational environment of Russian Universities (On the example of Saratov State University)

The article shows how Saratov State University, being a participant of the government educational program “Priority-2030”, works to increase attractiveness and competitiveness Russian higher education in international market services. Using example foreign students – citizens Turkmenistan, difficulties encountered by -young Turkmen are studied. empirical basis presents interviews with 3rd year from Turkmenistan at University 2021–2022. choice respondents was determined fact that occupies first place terms number coming for more than year. Nine in-depth were conducted. recruitment informants carried out “snowball method”. Analyzing experience upon entering environment SSU three key discourses identified: cognitive, socio-cultural, psychophysiological. It is concluded main problem young Turkman faces when university financial difficulties, example, delay transferring money parents, not enough received, therefore need part-time work ensure living wage. This circumstance affects attendance classes interferes language training, obtaining professional knowledge. Another significant difficulty lack trusting communication assistance local group mates as well psychological support teaching staff.
